Uniform Requirements

 

All students are required to wear uniforms while in the building or on the campus of The Historic Frederick Douglass High School. The school uniform policy will be strictly enforced. To read the full Uniform Policy and Options document please click here. Students are expected to dress neatly at all times, and will be apprised of appropriate dress by any adult in the building. 
At times when students are allowed to wear clothing other than their school uniforms, the following will not be permitted:

flip-flops

halter tops

midriff tops

tube tops

torn clothing

“Daisy Dukes”

ragged clothing

undergarments worn as outerwear

spaghetti strap tops (without a jacket)

micro-mini shirts / dresses

backless dresses

Bandanas, Doo-rags, Hats

see-through clothing

baggy pants or jeans, with or without a belt which allow exposure of undergarments while walking, bending, stooping, or other movement of the body

bedroom slippers

tank tops

sleeveless t-shirts

No clothing designed or altered for exposure of parts of the body – except arms or legs, as defined throughout these rules – is permitted.

clothing with inflammatory, offensive, gang related symbols/colors and/or profane language

white t-shirts

THE ABOVE ARE NOT ALLOWED OR PERMITTED IN THE BUILDING.
